Photoshop Tutorial: Signature tutorial
This tutorial effect will probably be used in signatures, I think, and therefor, I named it "Signature tutorial".
1. First, start off by opening a new 400 x 100 px document.
[b:pfnw7dxj]File > New - Width: 400, Height: 100, Contents: White[/b:pfnw7dxj]
2. Take the [i:pfnw7dxj]Gradient tool[/i:pfnw7dxj], and use these settings:
[b:pfnw7dxj]Mode: Difference, Opacity: 25%, Black/White Gradient[/b:pfnw7dxj]
3. Draw around a little. Make short moves in every direction in the middle of the document. Then hit [b:pfnw7dxj]Ctrl + I[/b:pfnw7dxj] to invert the pictures colours. Your result should look somewhat like this:

4. Now, go [b:pfnw7dxj]Filter > Stylize > Glowing Edges[/b:pfnw7dxj] and just hit "OK".
Your result should look somewhat like this:
[img:pfnw7dxj]http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload7/sig_tut_02.png[/img:pfnw7dxj]
5. Now, go [b:pfnw7dxj]Filter > Stylize > Find Edges[/b:pfnw7dxj].
Your result shuld look somewhat like this:

Done! If you want to (which you probably do), you can add some extra effects, like some text, and a border:

Tadaa!
